The Vista Runners Approach

As your coach my goal is to make a training plan for the whole athlete. I do this my chatting with you about your responses to my Reflection Questions to get a better understanding of where you are at. When we look beyond just the race or time goal there is potential to create an awesome plan that will not only achieve your goals but flow seamlessly in your life. Zooming out for the big picture may not be intuitive at first but athletes have shared they have found this approach beneficial.

Running and fitness should be a part (not apart) of our lives. I am committed to helping my athletes create balanced plans to seamlessly integrate life long longevity fitness regimes throughout their normal lives. While time management is essential to success there is more to healthy training than making time for those workouts. Often overlooked in training plans is scheduling meaningful rest and recovery. R&R is essential to achieving running goals great and small, near and future.

My coaching philosophy has my eye on helping athletes be lifelong athletes. Yoga and running have been interconnected since I started competing in junior high school. Our track coach, an avid runner himself, used yoga for strength and conditioning to improve his performance. What worked for him he introduced to us. The flows, a sequence of positions, I create for runners focus on stabilization, balance, and strengthening support muscle groups.

Plan

We have busy modern lives. Together we scope out the everyday life scheduling, special events, and discuss additional energy outputs. With this extra attention to the whole athlete the plan created will feel intuitive when in practice.

Integrate

Training plans are made to be edited! Let's swap in that chill run with a friend after a hectic work week, or add that corporate 5k so you can best your time last year. Runs, weights, and yoga will be sprinkled throughout your week.

Kudos

Accountability is the cornerstone of any great training plan. As your coach I will be able to monitor your progress through a shared app. We will be able to interpret the data together to monitor progress.
